What
We Do
Exultant Games is a video game development studio founded in 2018 by Jason Conaway, Jon Ritter, and Michael Kawas.
We make high-quality video games for players who crave exultation.
You know, it’s that feeling of triumph and joy that comes from overcoming incredible challenges.
Who
We Are
Originally trained as an IP and transactions lawyer at Stanford Law School, Jon practiced for 20 years in several technology companies leading legal teams and counseling company executives on a wide range of legal and business issues. Five years ago, following his true passion, Jon transitioned full-time into the role of entrepreneur and business leader. Jon and Mike have worked together to rapidly expand the reach of Game-U, a company founded by Mike, which teaches kids and young adults how to make video games.
As an Artist and Art Director in the Video Games Industry for nearly twenty years, Michael has shipped many highly successful titles including Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I & II for LucasArts, Sly Cooper 4: Thieves in Time for Sony, X-Men 3: The Official Game for Activision, Aggressive Inline for Acclaim, and Test Drive Off-Road 3 for Accolade.
Along the way, Michael has directed multiple art teams, some larger than twenty artists, ensuring quality and consistency across all creative disciplines from Concept Illustration, Environment Art, Animation, User Interface, and Special Effects. Michael is also passionate about teaching games development. In 2013, he founded Game-U, whose mission is to teach kids of all ages and abilities how to design and build their own video games from scratch, just like the pros do.
For more than two decades, Jason Conaway has been a Software Engineer and Technical Director in the Video Games Industry. Jason’s developer credits include engineering roles on more than a dozen blockbuster video games, including League of Legends for Riot Games, Star Wars: The Old Republic for BioWare, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 for EA Los Angeles, Bulletstorm for People Can Fly, Golden Eye: Rogue Agent for EA Los Angeles, Return to Krondor for PyroTechnix, and several titles in the Medal of Honor series for DreamWorks Interactive and Electronic Arts. Jason is also a Senior Instructor at Game-U, where he teaches students how to design, build, and program their own video games using professional tools and methods.
